Microsoft on Monday announced a price increase for Xbox Live Gold members in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and the U.K., effective November 1, $59.99. Currently the price is $49.99, and has been at that price for the past 8 years that Microsoft Live Gold has existed. As a consolation prize to ease the pain, Microsoft is allowing current users to renew for the next year for a 20% discount, $39.99. so if you haven’t yet, do it now. Also, check out Amazon or other online retailers for discounted year membership cards, and save it for next years renewal.
